KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Development

• Identify, pursue and secure new mining equipment rental opportunities.
  
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with mining houses, contractors and project owners.
  
• Build and manage a robust sales pipeline to achieve revenue targets.
  
• Conduct regular client visits and site assessments.
  
• Promote Sarens' equipment rental solutions within the mining sector.
  

Commercial Management

• Prepare quotations, proposals and tender submissions.
  
• Negotiate commercial agreements and contract terms.
  
• Ensure profitability and sustainability of rental contracts.
  
• Monitor contract performance and customer satisfaction.
  
• Customer Relationship Management
  
• Establish and maintain long-term partnerships with key stakeholders.
  
• Understand client operational requirements and provide fit-for-purpose solutions.
  
• Act as the primary commercial contact for assigned customers.
  
• Support customer retention and identify growth opportunities within existing accounts.

Market Intelligence

• Monitor mining activity, projects and market trends within Zambia and neighbouring regions.
  
• Track competitor activities and market developments.
  
• Identify opportunities to expand Sarens' presence within the mining sector.

Operational Collaboration

• Work closely with Operations, Technical and Maintenance teams to ensure successful contract execution.
  
• Provide technical input on equipment selection and utilization.
  
• Support project mobilisation activities where required.

Experience
Essential

• Minimum 10 years' experience in the mining, earthmoving or heavy equipment industry.
  
• Proven track record in equipment rental, business development or equipment sales.
  

• Experience renting heavy mining equipment including:
  

• Ancillary Mining Equipment
  
• Strong understanding of open-pit mining operations and equipment applications.
  
• Established network of mining industry contacts within Zambia.
  

Advantageous

• Experience working with major mining companies and mining contractors in Zambia.
  
• Previous exposure to equipment rental businesses operating within mining environments.
  
• Knowledge of mining project development and contractor mobilisation.
