Mobile Crane Mechanic
Relocation Available to Belgium
As a Crane Mechanic at Sarens, you’ll be part of a dynamic team responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of cranes, rolling material, and lifting equipment. Whether based in South Africa or Belgium, you’ll perform inspections, troubleshoot breakdowns, and ensure our equipment is in top condition. You’ll work independently on-site, applying your technical skills across hydraulics, electro-mechanics, and electronics. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and values safety, precision, and teamwork.

PROFILE
- Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures
- Ensure compliance with Sarens’ SHEQ standards and local legislation
- Accurately complete maintenance reports and documentation
- Collaborate with internal teams and contribute to safety and technical meetings
Requirements
- Have an in-depth understanding of the different components
- Technical qualification in hydraulics, electro-mechanics, electricity or electronics
- Basic Experience working on cranes (3+ years)
- Ability and willingness to work on weekends, public holidays, shift work, or on-call duty as required.
- Technical qualification in hydraulics, electro-mechanics, electricity or electronics
- Safety certificates (e.g. working at height, forklift, slinging/signaling) are a plus
- Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical and electrical domains
- Fluent in English
- Valid driver’s license
