Accountant

Accurate – Reliable – Analytical

As an Accountant at Sarens, you ensure accurate and punctual accounting and financial reporting for the business units under your responsibility. You own the full Record-to-Report process and guarantee compliance with Group standards and local legislation. Your work provides management with clear, reliable financial insights and supports sound decision-making. You operate with precision, autonomy and a strong sense of responsibility, always with safety and quality as your compass.

Your job in a nutshell:

  • You ensure a reliable and punctual Record-to-Report (R2R) process in line with Group standards and local legal requirements.
  • You manage full accounting activities including General Ledger, fixed assets, provisions, deferrals, VAT/taxes, intercompany reconciliations and cash monitoring.
  • You prepare and execute monthly, quarterly and yearly closings with accuracy and discipline.
  • You produce financial reports, balance sheets and profit & loss statements to keep management fully informed.
  • You prepare the annual report and act as a key contact for external accountants and auditors.
  • You ensure statutory and statistical reporting in compliance with legal and Group requirements.
  • You actively identify irregularities, investigate deviations and take corrective actions where needed.
  • You contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes, embracing Lean principles.
  • You ensure compliance with Sarens’ SHEQ standards and regularly visit sites, completing WPIs.
  • You report to the Financial & Business Controller and work closely with AR, bank reconciliation, controllers and line management.

ABOUT YOU

You are a hands-on finance professional who values accuracy, ownership and integrity. You feel comfortable working independently, while staying closely connected to the business. You communicate clearly with stakeholders and take pride in delivering compliant, high-quality financial reporting. Safety, structure and continuous improvement are second nature to you.

You bring:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent through experience.
  • Proven experience in accounting and financial reporting, preferably in an international or multi-entity environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Record-to-Report processes, statutory reporting and local GAAP.
  • Experience with VAT, taxes, provisions and intercompany reconciliations.
  • A structured, precise and analytical way of working.
  • The ability to work autonomously and take ownership of your responsibilities.
  • Confidence to liaise with auditors, external accountants and internal stakeholders.
  • A proactive mindset with attention to safety, quality and compliance.
