Finance manager
Strategic – Hands-on – Reliable
As Finance Manager in Almaty, Kazakhstan, you own the financial steering of our local operations. You turn numbers into clear insights, protect financial discipline and support the business with sound advice. From budgeting and reporting to cash flow and compliance, you are the financial compass for the country organisation. You work closely with management, operations and Group Finance, combining autonomy with strong teamwork.

Your job in a nutshell:
- Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts and long-term financial plans
- Monitor financial performance, analyse variances and translate them into clear recommendations
- Prepare financial models, cash flow projections and business cases for strategic decisions
- Deliver monthly, quarterly and annual management reporting (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
- Ensure accurate, complete and timely financial data and reporting
- Maintain internal financial controls and ensure compliance with Sarens policies and accounting standards
- Oversee accounting activities including general ledger, payables, receivables and payroll coordination
- Ensure compliance with tax, statutory and regulatory requirements in Kazakhstan
- Coordinate internal and external audits and manage auditor relationships
- Manage cash flow, working capital, liquidity and credit risk
- Support banking relationships, financing arrangements and debt management
- Analyse cost structures and drive cost optimisation initiatives
- Support pricing decisions, margin analysis, and profitability improvement initiatives
- Implement financial discipline across business units
- Act as a financial business partner to management and department heads
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support operational and strategic decisions
ABOUT YOU
You are a finance professional who combines analytical strength with business sense. You feel comfortable taking ownership, setting structure and supporting operational teams with clear financial guidance. You work with precision, communicate with confidence and keep a helicopter view, even under pressure.
What you bring:
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field
- 5–10 years of experience in finance, accounting or controlling
- Solid experience in budgeting, forecasting, reporting and audit coordination
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and taxation
- Professional certification such as **ACCA, CPA, CIMA or CFA** is an advantage
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP or accounting systems
- Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
- Clear communication and presentation skills
- A business-oriented mindset with a hands-on attitude
- Fluent in **English** and **Russian or Kazakh**
