Senior accountant

As a Senior Accountant based in Almaty, Kazakhstan, you take ownership of the full accounting and reporting cycle for our local business unit.
You ensure accuracy, compliance and timeliness in line with Sarens Group standards and local legislation.
Working closely with operations and regional finance, you translate numbers into clear insights that support safe and profitable projects.
You act as a trusted financial partner and raise the bar in accounting quality and control.

Your job in a nutshell:
- Oversee and control daily accounting operations
- Ensure accurate recording of transactions in accordance with accounting standards
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Manage general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, labor regulations, and internal policies
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control activities
- Supervise and mentor junior accountants and accounting assistants
- Coordinate with other departments on financial matters
- Support implementation and improvement of accounting systems and processes
ABOUT YOU
You are a hands-on senior accounting professional who values precision, structure and accountability.

You take pride in compliant, accurate reporting and are not afraid to challenge processes to make them better.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Professional Certifications
- 5+ years of accounting experience, including supervisory responsibility
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards and local regulations
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced MS Excel
- High attention to detail and analytical thinking
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally
- Good communication and leadership abilities
- Fluent in English; Russian and/or Kazakh
